The Difference Between Health and Fitness

In 90 seconds you’re going to know more about the terms health and fitness. We’ll start with the health now.

Health is the overall well-being of a person. There are four different components of it.

1-  We’ve got the physical which is our body and the quality of our bodily systems.

2- We have the social component which is the quality of our connections with other people and includes teamwork skills.

3- We have our emotions or our emotional aspect which is how we feel about what we’re doing and how we actually carry ourselves

4- This component is the quality of thought, how productive we are, and our decisions. If we can improve and target all four of these components we can then consider ourselves as being healthy. It’s the all-around well-being, physically, socially, mentally, emotionally.

It’s not just the absence of illness, It is the condition of wellness in every aspect of life. if we look at both, they absolutely go together hand and hand, however, fitness is more linked with the physical aspect and it’s meeting the demands of the environment.

Lifestyle and our hobbies and pastimes can create demands that the environment puts on our bodies. Rock climbing puts demands on your body, you can use your mind to help you meet the demands mentally, but physically it takes endurance, induces levels of fatigue, but as long as we can meet the demands of the body and mind then we can call ourselves fit.

So the question should be what are we fit for? High-level sportspeople need to be fit for high intensity, fatigue-inducing tiring environments, so they are usually both healthy and fit.
